Privacy Policy
Somatic trauma coach — operator of the Integrate app
Last updated 10 October 2026
Somatic trauma coach is a solo somatic trauma coaching practice run by Ben Yokoyama. This policy covers Integrate, the private app Somatic trauma coach provides to its own coaching clients for logging what happens between sessions. Integrate is not a public service and is not open for general sign-up — you only have an account because your coach invited you by email.
This policy explains what the app stores, who can see it, and what control you have over it. If anything here is unclear, write to ben@benyokoyama.com and ask.
What is collected, and why
| What | Why it exists |
|---|---|
| Your name and email address | Entered by your coach when they invite you. It identifies your account and is how the invitation reaches you. |
| Your password | Set by you. It is stored by our authentication provider as a cryptographic hash — Somatic trauma coach never sees it and cannot read it. |
| Your mobile number | Only if you gave one earlier. Integrate used to offer reminders by text and no longer does. Any number already on file is not used for anything, and you can have it deleted by asking at the address below. |
| Your reminder times and time zone | So a reminder set for 9:00 pm arrives at 9:00 pm where you actually are. |
| Your entries | What you write in a check-in: the kind of event (dream, trigger, flashback, win, intention, other), when it happened, what you wrote about it, any body sensations you noted, and an intensity rating. This is the point of the app. |
| Your parts map | If you use it: the names you give your parts, their roles, what they do, what they are afraid of, and — for exiles — an age, a brief memory and what the part carries. |
| Session dates | Entered by your coach, so the app can show what happened since you last met. |
| Session summaries | Generated for your coach to read before your appointment. See “Automated summaries” below. |
| Basic account timestamps | When your account was created and when you first opened the app, so your coach can tell an unopened invitation from an ignored one. |
Integrate has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no third-party cookies. Nothing you write is used to train any AI model. Browser storage is used only to keep you signed in and to hold a check-in you have started but not yet finished.
Who can see it
Your coach. Your coach can read everything in your account: your entries, your parts map, your reminder settings and your contact details. That is the purpose of the app — you are writing it so they can read it before your session.
Your coach cannot change your words. Entries and your parts map are writable only by you. This is enforced by database permissions, not merely hidden in the interface.
Other clients cannot see any of it. Each client account can reach only its own records.
No one else reads it. Nobody at Somatic trauma coach reviews or monitors your entries other than your own coach.
Service providers
Integrate runs on four services. Each receives only what it needs, and none of them is permitted to use your information for their own purposes:
- Supabase — hosts the database and handles sign-in. All of your account and entry data lives here.
- Vercel — serves the app itself. It receives ordinary web request data (such as your IP address) but holds none of your entries.
- Google (Gmail) — carries the invitation and reminder emails, and so receives your email address and the message itself. The reminder says only that it is time to check in.
- Anthropic — generates session summaries. See the next section.
Automated summaries
When your coach prepares for a session, the app can generate a written summary of your recent entries using Anthropic's Claude model. Your entry text is sent to Anthropic to produce that summary. Anthropic does not use it to train their models.
Two limits on this, both deliberate:
- Your parts map is not sent. Part names may appear where you tagged an entry with one, but the records themselves — a part's age, the memory attached to it, and what it carries — never leave the database. They are for you and your coach only.
- The summary is for your coach, not a decision about you. It is a reading aid, clearly labelled as machine-generated, and every point links back to the entry you actually wrote so your coach can check it against your own words.
Reminder emails
Reminders are optional and off unless you turn them on. You choose the times; you can change them or switch them off in the app at any time, and nothing is sent until you do.
- The only emails sent are the check-in reminders you scheduled, at the times you chose.
- They go to the address you sign in with.
- The subject line says only "Time to check in" and nothing about what the app is for — it shows in a notification where other people may see it.
- No marketing, no newsletters, nothing else is ever sent to that address.
Integrate no longer offers reminders by text message.
How long it is kept
Your entries are kept for as long as your account exists, because the record of your own work is the thing of value in it. If your coaching relationship ends, your coach can close your account: you keep read access to everything you wrote, new entries stop, and reminders stop.
Ask at ben@benyokoyama.com and your data will be exported to you or permanently deleted, as you prefer.
Your choices
- See it — everything you have written is visible to you in the app at any time.
- Correct it — you can edit or delete your own entries and parts yourself.
- Stop the reminders — switch email reminders off in the app at any time.
- Get a copy, or have it erased — email the address above.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Access is enforced per-account at the database level rather than in the interface, so one client's credentials cannot reach another client's records. Passwords are hashed by the authentication provider and are not visible to us.
No system is perfectly secure, and this is a small practice rather than a large company. Please do not use Integrate to store anything you could not bear to have exposed.
Children
Integrate is not intended for anyone under 18 and accounts are created only by invitation from a coach.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date above changes and clients are told in the app or by email.
